Art Start Brand Identity Development

For this studio, we were required to make a brand identity system and printed guide for a company. I decided to makeup ArtStart, a non-profit art program in Philadelphia that would provide the youth with access to art education and resources for free. A substantial amount of time went into creating the logo mark, which was then used to create an entire system for the brand. All of which was presented in a printed guide book. Logo mark development

After spending time researching competitor brand’s logos, I sketched concepts according to the iconic, indexical and symbolic categories. I refined a handful of concepts and presented them to my classmates, professors, and friends who had never seen the project before. With this feedback, I was able to move forward with a concept that was working successfully. Once the final mark was finished, I choose colors and a typeface that complemented the brand.
