Franklin Gothic Typography Exploration & Book
Over the course of the semester, I used Franklin Gothic to learn and explore kerning, positive/negative space, hierarchy and composition. All of projects from the semester were documented in a final book. View the final book here.
Positive/negative space & abstraction sequence
Each composition below represents a series created under specific typographic restrictions. The goal of this project was to understand the importance and practicality of typographic hierarchy. The first series could only be created using one weight and one point size. As the exercise progressed, we were allowed to incorporate a variety of weights and sized in addition to incorporating dots and rules.
